In the spirit of New Year’s Organization that’s taken over our home, I have developed an intense desire for a vanity. True story: I currently sit up on our bathroom counter with my feet in the sink to do my makeup every morning. I could certainly use a place that is totally girly and totally mine, and I have been scheming ways to rearrange the bedroom to fit another piece or furniture…we’ll see. In the meantime, here is what I would love to see on my dream vanity.
The Main Focus: I love this white lacquered, narrow-leg vanity from West Elm. I would use the deep area that the mirror folds down to cover for everyday items, and the two drawers for less-used items.
Countertop Organization: I have been coveting this Gold Athena Tray from Jayson Home for months and am starting to feel that I need to place my order soon, vanity or no vanity. It would be the perfect way to display my growing collection of sparkly hair accessories.
Fresh Flowers (preferably a surprise from the fiance): To brighten up the mornings and bring a touch of nature to my space. I know peonies aren’t in season now, but I am leaning toward pink peonies for wedding flowers!
A place to keep my engagement ring: I am trying to keep my engagement ring (and especially its heirloom diamonds) in the best possible quality, so I try not to get lotion, soap, or any other product on it. I love these Gilded Ring Bearer Bowls from Paloma’s Nest…I’d love a custom-made one to read, “then laugh, leaning back in my arms” (borrowed from my very favorite love poem).
Everyday essentials: I currently keep my eyelash curler, favorite eyeliner, makeup brushes, and other essentials in a Bennington Potters Stoneware Tumbler that my mom got for me – it’s the perfect size and I love getting everyday use out of my Bennington Potters items!
